Hennes ögonsten Lady har presenterat matte fem nya ögonstenar i de vackra färgerna isabell och silvergrå. Rasen är italiensk vinthund, så klart! Nu när det är så varmt kan det väl passa med något svalkande? Har skaffat grejor för filbunkstillverkning. Busenkelt och jättegott! Man värmer 1 l röd mölk obs får inte koka. Ställes för sig för att svalna. Häll upp en klutt c:a 1/2 dl långfil i varje filbunksskål. På med den ljumma mölken, toppa med tjock grädde. Täck över med tallrikar, plus handduk. Får stå tills filbunken "stannat", tar något dygn beroende på väder. Ställ in i kylskåp. Serveras med ingefära, bär eller annat efter smak. Avbrännes med lättbentyl! (Obs skämt!)

Sommaren är skön, vi stretar på och det är synd att klaga. Har lite svårt att sjunka tillbaka till vardagslunken, efter all festivitas i samband med WDS och möten med alla vänner från fornstora dar. Inte mycket man kan göra åt den saken...Tittade ett tag på den här bilden. Pernilla har vänligt nog dimmat till den lite, enligt beställarens önskemål - tack så mycket! Motsvarar rätt väl sinnesstämningen f.n - känns som man vore på väg att glida bort från något... Lille Viggo, Ingrids skottevalp, med extramatte. Vem? Det är väl jag då. En patetisk föredetting? Obotlig optimist med barnasinnet i behåll? Gissningsvis finns sanningen någonstans mittemellan.




Man får i vanlig ordning söka stöd, ja till och med tröst, i den högre litteraturen. Det finns andra som varit missmodiga och som klarat sig ändå. Som t.ex George Orwell, Down and Out in London and Paris:

Winston Churchill

The origin of the Churchill family motto and why it is in Spanish.



The first Duke of Marlborough's father - Winston Churchill, was a royalist and in the civil war a staunch supporter of the King. As a consequence he lost his home and lands.



When Charles II came to the throne he created many of those loyal to him to Knights with the right to bear Arms (Coats of Arms). What he did not do was to recompense them for their losses.



Thus the newly created Sir Winston Churchill chose the motto



"Faithful though disinherited."







Mr Paul Duffle (Blenheim Palace archivist of 27 years) and the author Mr David Green - who wrote the definitive work 'Blenheim' (Collins, 1974), and also Dr A.L.Rowse in his book 'The early Churchills. An English family'. (Macmillan, 1956), and his subsequent book, 'The later Churchills',(Macmillan, 1958), and Kate Fleming, who wrote the book 'The Churchills'. (Weidenfield and Nicolson, 1975), all tried to find an answer to why the motto was in Spanish and not Latin.



Not even Garter King of Arms (College of Arms) could help them.



Mr Paul Duffle writes to us . . . 'Spanish was not the language of the Court nor of the Church. . . . maybe the Spanish words were the most apt sounding . . . for example consider the expression que sera sera - 'whatever will be, will be' . . . this is in Spanish. Why? Because it sounds better than in say Latin, French or German ?
